Director Rachel Blecha
Rachel began dancing at the age of 2 first at her mother's studio. She then added joining the David DeMarie Dance Studio at the age of 6. Rachel joined the DDD competitive team at the age of 10 while continuing through high school. Rachel graduated and while obtaining a Master's Degree in Higher Education she was on a professional dance team,"The Bombshell." This dance team was apart of the arena football team the "Destroyers." Rachel also taught dancing at Images in Dance and substitute teacher at David DeMarie Dance. Rachel is excited to have returned back into the dance industry when her two daughters began dancing 14 years ago. Rachel created the Resurgence Dance program two years ago with a unique approach into the dance industry focusing on intense dance training. She now attends various conventions and competitions nationally with her daughters and students.
Teacher Macey Blecha
Macey began dancing at the age of 2. She started her training at David DeMarie Dance and LIV travel team prior to joining Resurgence Dance and Odasz Dance Theater. Macey has been a competitive dancer since the age of 7. Macey has accomplished many prestigious awards some to name...Season 6 and 8 Pro-Reveler, 2024 Encore Dream Team, 2022 Highest Scoring Solo for age 12 and up- Encore Regional, 2023 Miss Senior Encore Extreme, NYCDA overall dancer runner up, 2021-2022 ADA Regional title winner. Macey has been privately training young dancers, choreographing her own solos, choreographing other dancers solos and groups for a couple years. Maceys' true passion is in choreographing and performing. Macey feels dance is her outlet, love and pure happiness. Macey is an asset to the Resurgence program for all our intense dancers.
Teacher Preslee Blecha
Preslee began dancing at the age of 3 at the David DeMarie Dance Studio. At the age of 7 she competitively trained with the LIV travel team. Preslee now trains with Resurgence Dance and Odasz Dance Theater. Preslee has won several prestigious awards such as 2018 Mini Title Winner Countdown, 2018 1s Overall Mini Hall of Fame soloist, 2021 Miss Mini Onstage, 2022 1st Runner Up Miss Junior Onstage, 2022-2023 Revel Teen Regional/National scholarship winner, 2023 Summerdanse Super Star- 1st overall, 2020 and 2023 NYCDA overall dancer runner up, and 2023 1st Runner Up Miss Teen Encore Extreme. Preslee now teaches the younger dancers at Resurgence and truly is an asset to these young dancers.
Teacher Rachel Bieron
Rachel is a dance educator and choreographer from Buffalo, NY. She began her training at the age of 3 and studied various styles of dance including tap, jazz, ballet, modern, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop. She received additional training from the American Academy of Ballet, the Rockette Experience, Fosse, ABT II, Doug Varone Dance Company, Jazz Dance World Congress, Giordano Jazz Company, and Jose Limon. Rachel also holds a BA in dance from Suny University at Buffalo and is certified through Dance Educators of America. Professionally, she performed for L'Oreal Professional and Miss Buffalo Pageant. Rachel is most passionate about teaching and has won numerous awards, regionally and nationally for her choreography and training.
Teacher Kristin Alquist
Kristin grew up dancing at Images In Dance, training under Robin Cotler. There she studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, and pointe. Along with her training there, she would attend both Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway in NYC when she was able. Kristin also attended various dance conventions, dance teacher seminars, and performed in several fashion shows in the area. Upon graduating from high school she went on to teach at Images In Dance, where she was the Assistant Director to Robin Cotler and also taught for Pittsford Dance Studio under Brenda Bobby. In 2007 she took the leap and opened up her own dance studio, Fusion Dance Center, in LeRoy. Her students have won numerous awards throughout the years, and she has been awarded with several Judges Choice awards, The Studio Excellence Award, and Outstanding Choreography awards, just to name a few. Kristin has a true passion for teaching and absolutely adores her students and the time spent with them at the studio. She is excited to be on the faculty at Resurgence Dance where she can continue to follow her passion of teaching.
Teacher Miranda Spyropoulos
Miranda started dancing at the age of 7 in Batavia, NY at Images In Dance. She began dancing competitively at the age of 11. She continued through high school and went on to teach dance after graduating. Miranda started teaching at Fusion Dance in LeRoy, eight years ago. She is now attending conventions and competitions nationally to help further her education in the dance industry. She loves the joy of watching her students grow and the happiness and determination that dance also brings to her daughter.
